Mamezara, or “bean dish” is a type of small plate from Japan. In the past, these beautiful dishes were originally meant to hold food or condiments, now people start to find other ways into places other than the dining table.
Katazome (型染め) is a Japanese method of dyeing fabrics using a resist paste applied through a stencil. These tiny ceramic plates (mamezara) can be used for spices, cutlery rests or as jewelry dish etc.
